What Is Pure Pilates?

The Pilates Technique has been around for over 75 years and in that time has developed into a form of movement that can help all levels of health and fitness.

From athletes and dancers to rehabilitation from back pain or surgery, this Pilates method can be adapted to suit almost everyone.

What Should I Wear?

We recommend comfortable unrestricted clothing, footwear is not worn in class, so some socks to keep your toes warm. You are also welcome to bring your own mat but don’t worry mats are supplied. Always bring a drink of water.


Encouraging you to concentrate . . .

. . . on yourself for the whole class, is an achievement but Pilates is a thought process and every movement is controlled by thought. The rest will follow with practice. The relaxation session at the end completes your transformation (I have been told that this is the best bit)..

The 8 Principals of the Pilates Technique here are as follows:-

The focus on the eight principals of the Pilates Technique does take practice and time. To master the basics can be achieved in a few short weeks but for most, it will become a lifestyle that fits into and compliments all movement.


A series of over 30 moves form the basis of your Matwork training.

As with all new forms of movement, the Pilates technique will be a challenge and that is where your instructor is your interpreter into this wonderful world.
